Truth and reconciliation from a youth perspective

In this panel discussion, we will explore Sámi youth’s views on Truth and Reconciliation processes across Sápmi. While today’s youth have the power to build bridges in the future, their voices were largely absent from the official work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions. What does reconciliation mean to them – and what would reconciliation look like through their eyes? We will also discuss the shared challenges facing Sámi youth in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and whether a common vision or stance is emerging across borders.

I denne panelsamtalen skal vi utforske samisk ungdoms syn på sannhets- og forsoningsprosesser på tvers av Sápmi. Selv om dagens ungdom har makt til å bygge broer i fremtiden, var stemmene deres i stor grad fraværende i det offisielle arbeidet til sannhets- og forsoningskommisjonene. Hva betyr forsoning for dem – og hvordan ville forsoning sett ut sett fra deres øyne? Vi vil også diskutere de felles utfordringene samisk ungdom står overfor i Sverige, Norge og Finland, og om en felles visjon eller holdning er i ferd med å vokse frem på tvers av landegrensene.
